This set of images came from an estate which contained one of the largest
collections of original 3D nudes ever found. They were probably taken on
the West Coast since some of images were snapped on a set during a movie
production. Many of the non nudes feature different areas around California
as a backdrop. The name Hank Casper is scrawled in pencil across several of
the slide mounts along with the names of several
models.
This section contains almost 500 images and are a spectacular reflection of
nude photography that segues from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. Hank
documented some of his adventures in 3D during a trip to the Polynesian
Islands.
If you are a casual or serious collector of nude photography, 3D is the way
to go. It's relatively easy to start with a vintage
Realist
viewer that can be picked on eBay for a reasonable price. Then you can fun
hunting down vintage slides. The Realist viewer is similar in concept to a
View-Master viewer but is much nicer. Since the image area is larger on
Realist format film than on View-Master format film, the images appear much
more detailed and vibrant. 3D collecting has many ardent fans and clubs
which can provide much information.
