The 1950s love affair with the breast was rumored to have begun at the end
of WWII when it was said that Japanese woman received the first form of
silicone enhancement because they wanted larger breasts to attract
American servicemen. This was the beginning of an era with the end result
evident in modern culture. The modern day standard for breasts calls for
them to look like two scoops of ice cream plastered onto a chest without the
natural slope. This combined with Barbie doll aesthetics has created a
strange ideal. Large bosoms with a tiny bottom half are a paradoxical
standard in regards to female physiology.
